Configuration at the ends of the staircase.

The stairlift resting spot at the top and bottom of the stairs requires consideration – the goal is to make sure that the rider has easy and safe access when getting on and off the stairlift. Furthermore, when the stairlift chair is in a resting position, it’s important to consider foot traffic.

The images below show how railings for the ends of the staircase can be configured for the final resting point of the stairlift either at the top or bottom of the stairs.  The configuration depends on the surrounding walls as well as the space around the staircase.
