Curved rails are much more complex to manufacture than straight rails. To keep the rail as close as possible to the handrail, we use solid stainless steel. This prevents deformation, makes maintenance easier, and allows the gear rack and rail to be integrated as a single piece. With careful design, the handrail and curved stair-lift rail fit extremely closely, saving significant stairway space.
Regarding this close fit and material quality, while the inherent design provides a clear advantage, planning and execution by professional engineers on-site are equally critical. Therefore, when evaluating costs and installation of different stair-lift systems, on-site assessments by engineers should always be the standard.
