In the Hu Residence in Luodong, Yilan, the staircase inside the house stretches nearly 9 meters in length, designed as a traditional two-story old home. Such a layout may not seem significant in one’s youth—but as parents age, every step becomes a challenge. Mr. Hu, usually busy with work, has limited time to visit home. Yet, he constantly worries about his parents’ daily lives. During this visit, he quietly made a decision: “I hope my parents can enjoy the ease of climbing stairs from now on.”
