Understanding Stroke: Awareness Starts with Knowledge

A stroke is a medical emergency.
Without prompt and effective treatment, it can lead to moderate to severe disabilities, leaving individuals unable to perform daily activities independently.
Basic tasks such as eating, dressing, bathing, and walking may require long-term assistance from others.

Frequent medical visits and rehabilitation can also place a significant emotional and financial burden on caregivers and families, greatly affecting overall quality of life.

There are three main types of stroke:

  1. Ischemic Stroke (including cerebral infarction or cerebral ischemia)

  2. Hemorrhagic Stroke (brain hemorrhage)

  3. Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) – also known as a “mini-stroke”

If you or someone around you experiences symptoms of stroke, seek immediate medical attention — every minute counts!
